The Western front of the war ended on May 7th 1945 when Germany unconditionally surrenders.

After the Battle of the Bulge Germany was weakening and stood no chance against the Allies and Soviets who had now linked up and fought Germany in the Battle of Berlin. German forces in Berlin surrendered on May 2, after losing the Battle of Berlin, leading other German forces around the globe to surrender, with a complete and unconditional surrender on May 7th. May 8th is now known as Victory Day because it is the day the war ended.

On April 30th, Hitler committed suicide and two days after Mussolini was shot.
